Why creating a surfing space for women and girls has been so important and how we are working towards more ethnic and cultural diversity in the surfing community and culture.

Yvette founded Wave Wahines 7 years ago as a non-surfing mum who wanted to support her daughter access an activity at the time they found inaccessible for many reasons. Over the years the club has grown and changed and become a voice for ethnic and cultural diversity within the sport amongst other areas including surf therapy, contest surfing and creating an affordable and accessible environment.

We are a club with heart, and hold fun at our core.
